Bureau of Land Management “Coastal Explorers” and “Hike the Coast” Educational Talks & Tours of the Point Arena – Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument

The Bureau of Land Management is offering opportunities to participate in “Coastal Explorers” and “Hike the Coast,” its educational talks & tours of the Point Arena – Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument. Meet critters big and small, identify native and invasive plants, and learn what you can do to ensure the protection of our local endangered species.
The Coastal Explorers tour will be an easy, two mile guided hike along the coast (about 60 minutes). Meet at 1 p.m. at the “Bend in the Road” footpath access (see map below). Please bring water, and wear appropriate shoes and clothing.
The Hike the Coast tour will be a moderately difficult, eight-mile guided hike along the coast (about three hours). Meet at 10 a.m. at the City Hall Footpath Access to the Lands. Please bring water, and wear appropriate shoes and clothing.
And, come take a discounted Point Arena Lighthouse Museum & Tower Tour when you’re done with the Coastal Explorer tour! BLM Rangers will be handing out discounted tour coupons at the end of the walk, and guests will get the full Lighthouse Museum & Tower Tour for just $3 per person – a savings of $4.50 over the regular price!
